Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain. It has many diverse and interesting areas, and renting a Barcelona apartment in this gorgeous city provides the opportunity to truly experience the Catalan atmosphere and daily life. With its Mediterranean climate, Barcelona is an easy city to visit on foot and also has a well serviced metro and bus system.

The famous Las Ramblas is a 2 mile long boulevard that begins at the Plaza de Cataluña , considered the city centre, and ending at the ocean. The best way to explore Barcelona is to start at the Plaza de Cataluna and walk towards or away from the waterfront. Going towards the sea from the plaza is the old part of Barcelona - Barrio Viejo and Barrio Gotico (the Gothic Quarter). Often called Old Town, this is the oldest area of Barcelona and home to most of the museums and historical monuments. This area is very popular with tourists due to its unique atmosphere, distinctive medieval architecture and numerous bars and restaurants. Going towards the ocean is the El Borne district, which is considered one of the most fashionable places in the city. Beach lovers will want to rent their holiday flat in Barceloneta , which is located along the marina and beachfront and features the Barcelona Aquarium.

The majority of Antonio Gaudi's architectural masterpieces such us the Casa Batllo and Sagrada Familia cathedral are located in the Eixample district. Eixample is a popular location for holiday flat rental since it is also home to one of the city's major shopping areas. For a more bohemian location, renting a flat in Gracia , a very artistic and non-touristy part of the city will provide another view of Barcelona, away from the typical touristic areas.

Regardless of where you choose to rent your holiday flat in Barcelona, you will be enchanted by this passionate and diverse city. You will find a place that you want to call home.
